The Death Care Academy is delighted to announce that following on from recent discussions with a leading Independent Funeral Directing company based in the UK, arrangements are now in place to provide students of our embalming course the opportunity to observe and assist in the embalming procedures.

R Banks & Son (Funerals) Ltd established since 1921 is one of the largest family-owned funeral directing businesses having 9 independent branches throughout Wigan. This arrangement between the two organisations will provide students with the opportunity to observe and assist in the embalming process, an essential element required before practical examinations can take place to become a Qualified Embalmer within Ireland.

Due to the number of annual deaths that occur within the UK, having secured this arrangement students of the DCA can participate in observing and carrying out the practical element of their course modules over a reduced timeframe and in an environment specifically set up for embalming.

Not only will they gain a thorough understanding of the embalming process but they will acquire a good understanding of what is involved in working within the funeral sector itself.

This understanding along with the arrangements in place with University College Cork will ensure that all students who undertake the Embalming course run by the Death Care Academy of Ireland will gain the highest standards of experience and qualifications available throughout Europe.
